EXPERIENCE OUR GUIDES!! We guarantee you will have the desert adventure of your dreams while you relax and leave the route finding and planning to one of our experienced guides. Rudy Martinez will take the time to show you the best spots in the desert for fun mountain biking or hiking. Jennifer Morlock owns her own guiding company in North Dakota but comes to Phoenix in the winter to enjoy the beautiful weather and great riding. Joey Raymond is our resident huckster! He will show you the biggest, scariest lines while you are in town. Look for him in the picture gallery section to see what you can expect from him. You don’t have to follow him but if you are looking for good action pictures in the desert, request Joey as your guide and you can catch him flying off a 20 foot cliff!! Adrian Chastain is awesome with customers young and young at heart. Adrian is skilled leading groups on the most challenging trails and patient leading beginners down the South Mountain fire road. He does it all. All guides are first-aid certified and have been trained to provide the quality experience you demand.

Cactus Adventures, in conjunction with Cactus Bike, has many different rental bikes for you to choose from to make your experience as memorable as possible!! SAVE time and money by leaving YOUR bike at home and renting one of our bikes. We have rental bikes for the WHOLE family. Everything from 20 inch wheeled kids mountain bikes to adult road, mountain, or comfort bikes. 2009 and 2010 technology allows you to try a bike you have been dreaming about riding. See miles of Desert Classic singletrack aboard a 2009 Giant Trance or climb National aboard a 2009 Reign. Try bombing down Geronimo on a 2009 Kona Stab Deluxe. For something a little tamer, try our 2009 Kona Blast hardtail or the 2009 Kona Hoss if you are needing a little bigger frame.

Our 2009 road bike fleet includes Giant Defys, OCRs and TCRs in many sizes to fit your requirements.

We also can provide a wide variety of comfort bikes and beach cruisers if more relaxed riding is for you.

When we started Cactus Adventures there was no question in our minds where we would construct our guiding/rental location. We are located at the base of beautiful South Mountain Preserve with over 15,000 acres of preserved desert. All around Phoenix less than 4 hours in any direction, lies THE BEST mountain biking in the world!! Below is a list of some of our FAVORITE areas:

> SOUTH MOUNTAIN
The trails on South Mountain are some of the best in the world for mountain biking, hiking and road biking with trails/paths/roads for every genre of biking. If you like road riding plan your trip around Silent Sunday which hapens once a month (where no cars are allowed to drive the summit road). This is an awesome ride if you are looking for a leg burning road ride. You can climb the backside of South Mountain and then come ripping down! Any day of the week is good for a cross country or all-mountain ride up south's Mormon/National loops. If you like Downhill Mountain biking then hook up with the Short Bus on Sunday morning for as many shuttle runs as your body can stand!!

MCDOWELL MOUNTAIN PARK
More acreage than South Mountain but farther out of town, McDowell Mountain Park has something for everybody. The hiking trails are scenic and give you that "remote" feeling and the biking trails are classid desert singletrack. Back in the 90's the infamous Cactus Cup took place at McDowell Mountain Park. This lead way to the Competition loops being created. The Comp loops are mountain bike only trails that range in difficulty level. They are short-er loops that enable you to do fairly quick laps and meet back up in the parking lot. No matter what skill level your family or group has you will find something in the McDowell Park that is perfect for you.

SUNRISE PARK RESORT (link)
Arizona's ONLY lift assisted mountain biking is located in the beautiful White Mountains. We have been able to ride mountain bikes at this awesome ski resort for almost 10 years now. Sunrise has trails for everybody but is definitely geared towards downhill mountain biking. Sunrise is the perfect spot to hone your skills and beat the heat of Phoenix. In the Summer months it is generally 30-50 degrees cooler in the White Mountains than in Phoenix. Stay at the Sunrise Lodge or camp at one of the many campgrounds or lakes. Great fishing awaits as well as world class mountain bike riding. Come join us for the Sunrise Cup Mountain Bike race and test your skills against the locals! Cactus Bike provides great rental bikes at our Pinetop location in the summer that are perfect for Sunrise's challenging and technical terrain.
